Knowledge Transfer Officer (PR0420/22-23)

The Knowledge Transfer Office serves as the bridge between the University and the community for the transfer of knowledge, technology, expertise, skills and capabilities in campus-wide disciplines. We also run the Business Entrepreneurship Support and Training programme in the University. One of the major duties is to conduct studies and investigations to help to measure the impacts of our various workshops, public lectures and seminars. The Office now invites applications for the positions below:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU) funding scheme including recruitment, vetting, budget monitoring and reporting;
  • Coordinate lean startup trainings and support for HKBU Spin-off companies;
  • Liaise with internal and external bodies for soliciting partnerships and facilitate entrepreneurship and tech transfer development;
  • Assist in the commercialisation of technologies generated;
  • Execute IPRs project management for technology entrepreneurship and enterprises;
  • Maintain a good knowledge of the market trend and build network with local professionals, industries and investors for potential collaborations; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably a higher degree in Science, Business, or related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with proven track records in industry engagement, business development or technology commercialisation;
  • Able to work independently and provide advice to senior management;
  • A sense of ownership;
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua.
  • The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re- appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Those who have requested to the previous advertisement need not reapply.
