Kids Minister
Job Description:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
To provide leadership, vision, and direction to the children's ministry that
aligns with the mission of Calvary with a focus on connecting children and
families to the church community thus creating an environment in which the
Gospel can be favorably received and disciples can be multiplied.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Ability to communicate the Gospel through various means to people of all
ages
Ability to articulate and implement the vision of Calvary Tuscaloosa
Experience ministering to children with a passion for kids and their
families
Knowledge of effective kids ministry structures and curriculum
Ability to cast vision and plan for continued growth
Computer competency (or ability to learn) – MS Office, ProPresenter,
Planning Center, or similar systems
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing leadership, direction, training, and oversight for all
children's ministry staff, leaders, and volunteers
Providing leadership and oversight for all children's ministry events that
include, but are not limited to the following: Sunday morning small
groups, Sunday morning children's worship, Wednesday night ministry,
Vacation Bible School, Connect Camp,
Developing and maintaining systems for safety and security of children
Developing and maintaining clean, aesthetic, and developmentally-
appropriate learning environments
Building ministry teams by recruiting, training, and investing in
volunteers
Creating and efficiently managing the children's ministry budget with
direction from the senior pastor and/or finance committee
Communicating consistently and effectively with parents and ministry
volunteers
Encouraging and equipping parents to develop a biblical worldview for
their children
Other duties as assigned by the senior pastor
