Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove invites applications for the following position within the project of Excellence research OP JAC – Brain Dynamics, reg. No CZ.02.01.01/00/22008/0004643

Job Title: Junior researcher / Postdoc scientist – full time (1.0)

About Us: We are a dynamic research team dedicated to advancing our understanding of the brain dynamics associated with normal and pathological visual perception. Our work combines EEG, ERP, TMS, and tES techniques with a multidisciplinary approach to unravel the complexities of human visual processing. We focus on visual motion processing and temporal properties of visual perception in combination with perceptual learning and habituation. Results we apply for diagnostic biomarkers in neurological, neuro- ophthalmological, and neuropsychiatric diseases. In neuro-ophthalmology, we investigate the effectiveness of implants for improving low vision and the possibility of using neuromodulation techniques to facilitate neurorehabilitation.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to a broader topic Brain dynamic of normal and pathological perception. The successful candidate will play a key role in selected tasks focusing on predictive coding in visual processing, simulation of visual disturbances, and investigating visual perception under pathological conditions.

Skills/Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, Bioinformatics or a related field. • Experience in conducting neuroscience research using EEG (ERP, VEP) with non-invasive brain stimulation (e.g., TMS, tES) is an advantage. • Proven track record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals (in the last 3 years, at least 2 publication outputs in Clarivate WoS). • Analytical and programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R-project) is an advantage. • Strong collaboration and communication skills. • Good written and verbal communication skills in English. • Health capacity for work, moral integrity.

Eligibility criteria
