Junior Research Scientist / AI/ML-based analyst (3 month term)

The John McDevitt laboratory at New York University is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to participate in the study of AI/ML (artificial intelligence/machine learning based analysis and shortlisting of lead biomarkers for periodontitis. The candidate will be involved in literature review on oral biomarkers for periodontitis and create a database of available literature.

An individual is sought to work on the project for three months, with a possibility of extension to a year or two. Salary is commensurate to experience and skill set.

Responsibilities

  • To complete literature search and meta analysis of biomarkers for periodontitis
  • To write reports for the sponsor
  • To design and render illustration and figures that analyze the available data
  • Qualifications

    Required skills

  • Advanced degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or bioengineering or related discipline
  • Direct experience with large literature searches
  • Direct experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Direct experience with clinical chemistry
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in written and oral English
