The Success Coach: Supports students from enrollment through graduation
through advising students about program and career options, teaching a college
success course, and managing a caseload of First Time in College (FTIC)
students. The programs this position supports are General Studies, Fine Arts,
Music, and Theatre.
The salary range for this position is $42,479.42 to $53,099.28 annually.

Tuition-FT employees, their spouse & dependents are eligible for coverage
of full Grayson College tuition amount.
Responsibilities
40% Manages a caseload of First Time in College Students; answers
questions, monitors student progress, and advises students to improve
student completion. This includes reviewing student data and developing
action plans, assigning mentors to support learning objectives providing
services for special populations, promote behavioral intervention
strategies (BIT), and serving as a liaison between students, staff,
faculty, and administrators.
20% Advises students on college programs and career options.
20% Teaches a zero hour college success course to help students develop
habits for academic success. Works with students each week to provide
instruction and answer questions as needed.
10% Updates student information in the advising module as needed to
maintain accurate records.
5% Provides workshops to include but not limited to time management, study
skills, and test-taking strategies.
5% Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintains current knowledge of Grayson College programs and pathways.
Makes effective presentations.
Maintains acceptable record of timeliness and attendance.
Represents Grayson College well; serves as an ambassador for the college in the community.
Complies with all laws and regulations related to higher education.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required.
A Master's degree is preferred.
Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Would prefer four years of similar or related experience.
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to
normal courtesy and tact.
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a
personal or sensitive nature.
Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with
other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and
often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to
others.
Ability to use a computer and learn new software or applications to
complete daily work.
Ability to establish rapport and develop relationships.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to
make public presentations.
Ability to work independently to complete projects and meet objectives.
CAEL case management certification training must be completed within the
first 12 months of employement
This position requires three professional references and submission of
transcript copies. This position is considered a security sensitive position
