IT Technician in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.: 523660)

The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under the University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international- standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies. HKU-CTC offers long-term development opportunities to passionate talents who pursue career advancement and success.

We are seeking a high calibre IT professional to join our Information Technology Unit as an IT Technician specializing in hardware and server installation, as well as user support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Install and configure Windows and Linux servers, as well as various hardware devices.
  • Procure IT equipment, peripherals, accessories, and consumables.
  • Maintain comprehensive IT asset inventories and update infrastructure documentation.
  • Provide efficient and timely end-user support, resolving incidents and addressing requests promptly.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in technical support.
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure and cabling.
  • Experience with FortiGate firewalls and familiarity with DevOps practices would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and multitasking abilities.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese.
  • The appointment will be made on a two-year fixed-term full-time contract, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
