The Investment Operations Accountant position provides the backbone of investment accounting data and analysis for the nine- member team of highly qualified professionals. POSITION SUMMARY

The Investment Operations Accountant will report to the Director of Investment Operations and will work closely with other members of the investment team. They will monitor and record investment activity, including managing the relationship with the investment asset custodian. The Investment Operations Accountant will also perform reconciliations and analysis of internal financial records and third-party investment statements. Assisting with other internal reporting needs, such as income tax planning/compliance and calculating investment performance, will also be a part of their role. Finally, the Investment Operations Accountant will perform ad hoc projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily investment reporting and transaction processing/review.
  • Works with the Director of Investment Operations to help manage external service providers including custodial relationships, legal/tax counsel and external audit requirements.
  • Manages monthly investment accounting entries and summary reports.
  • Assists with Endowment performance measurement.
  • Assists with investment-related tax reporting, preparation of Trustee documents and other internal reporting.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Three years or more of work experience
  • Champions Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Analyze and interpret policies, terms and conditions, regulations; ability to think conceptually
  • Planning and organizing skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy are critical
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong information management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents
  • Independent self-starter with developed problem solving skills
  • Recognizes the value of teamwork
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting or similar field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • Experience in Higher Education
  • Experience with endowments
  • Experience with financial audits and/or income tax
