Job Summary
Coordinate and facilitate internships for UTA students in collaboration with
employers. Administrative and clerical duties related to internships,
maintaining relationships with employer partners and ensuring university
requirements and regulations compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the Mavs EDGE Internship Program. Partner with employers to deliver
program services, monitor relationship status, and facilitate connections
between employers/students/faculty/staff. – - Develop and maintain
relationships with employer partners to facilitate internships for UTA
students. Manage communication platforms, newsletters, social media, CRM.
Collect information/data from employers/students on overall internship
experience, placement, outcomes, satisfaction level, etc. Create and
launch surveys/assessments.
Assist with standardization and centralization of UTA internship
experience for internal and external stakeholders
(employers/faculty/staff/students). Handshake (HS) management and
support. Oversee the vetting and approval process of internship postings.
Assist with the development and implementation of internship events.
Ensure compliance with University requirements and/or government
regulations related to internships.
Maintain internship records, including financial, personnel,
administrative, and student records.
Assist with organizing and maintaining an employer advisory group/team to
have open lines of communication with employer partners/feedback loop.
Supervise Student Worker(s).
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education,
or a related field/or equivalent working experience and a minimum of two
(2) years of working experience in internship coordination, recruitment,
or related experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively
collaborate with employers, faculty, staff, and students.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Strong
organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple internship
programs simultaneously.
Attention to detail to ensure compliance with university requirements and
government internship regulations. Ability to draft, edit, and prepare
correspondence, reports, and other materials using word processing,
spreadsheets, and databases.
Proficient in using technology tools such as online surveys and
assessments to collect data from employers and students.
Strong leadership skills to supervise student workers and collaborate with
employer advisory groups and teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with employers and students in a university setting.
Three (3) or more years of experience working in internship
coordination, recruitment, or related fields.
Experience using Handshake, as well as HubSpot (CRM tool), a plus.
Working Conditions
General office conditions, with the majority of time spent working at a
computer. Professional activities and participation in Student Affairs may
include off site meetings.
Repetitive use of keyboard at work station.
Use of manual dexterity. Security sensitive, criminal background check
conducted.
Hybrid work schedule – 1 day remote. Subject to change based on
performance and/or business needs
