Interim Business Operations Manager (Fixed Term)

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.

Applications are welcome from internal candidates who would like to apply for the role on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.

The Department of Veterinary Medicine is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Interim Business and Operations Manager to drive the Department in its delivery of teaching, research and clinical services, over the next two years. This role will support the Department for a two-year period including the duration of the current General Board Review of the Department. The post holder will enable the recurrent governance and operations to function to a high standard whilst assisting the Department in supporting the Review Board requirements and working closely with the Board as required.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the Department, working closely with the Head of Department, the Senior Management team, and other key stakeholders. Your strong organisational skills will allow you to manage multiple competing priorities; you will have excellent interpersonal skills, and the attention to detail that enables high-quality delivery of teaching, research and clinical services provided by the Department.

Educated to degree level, you will have significant administration management experience, ideally in a Higher Education setting. You will have led and managed large teams of support staff, with evidence of quality results. With strong strategic planning skills and evidence of supporting and developing your team, you will have the ability to build relationships at all levels of the Department and wider University.

In return you will receive a supportive and engaging environment with generous paid annual leave (41 days for full time employees, inclusive of public holidays). In addition, we are able to provide competitive staff benefits and services, including family friendly policies, numerous discounts on shopping, health care, financial services, and public transport. We also offer defined benefit pension schemes and tax-efficient bicycle, car lease and charity- giving schemes.
