SNCT Music instructors' salary scale for school hours teaching

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Education and Families Service to appoint an Instrumental Music Instructor for the YMI Kodaly Project. The post-holder will have a multi-faceted role to play in the effective delivery of Kodaly lessons to groups of pupils within North Lanarkshire Primary Schools. The post will require commitment and drive, to support the established YMI Kodaly programme. The post-holder will work closely with, and report to the Instrumental Music Service Lead Officer.

Candidates will have a recognised qualification in music or have gained significant and relevant experience as a musician within an educational context and be able to teach groups of pupils within their specialism and whole class delivery music in primary schools.

Candidates should be familiar with the appropriate repertoire requirements and relevant skill set required within their specialism, covering each stage of pupil development within the Kodaly delivery.

Recent teaching experience within an educational environment is desirable. Good communication, strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to undertake training is essential, and candidates should have an ongoing commitment to career long professional learning.

Prior to commencing in this role, you will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member.

Work pattern:

7 hours per week (TBC)

This post is temporary until 30 June 2023.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
