Position Title Instructors (Part-Time), Continuing Education

Job Description

Turn your passion and experience into an opportunity! The Continuing Education Department is continuously accepting applications for part-time instructors to teach career certificates, professional development and personal enrichment non-credit courses in their area of expertise. Courses are presented in varying formats lasting from one day to several weeks. Start dates and times will vary according to the course offering. Instructors will prepare and present course material during the assigned course times, coordinate materials with Program Coordinator, and follow-up with necessary paperwork.

Continuing Education offers a wide variety of educational courses in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Business / Professional Development
  • IT/Computers – Various Levels
  • EMS and Healthcare (CNA, EMT, Paramedic, etc.)
  • Industry Endorsements (CPR & 1st Aid, Forklift, OSHA, etc.)
  • Logistics (CDL, etc.)
  • Manufacturing (Machine, Mechanical, etc.)
  • Personal Enrichment (Culinary, Finance, Garden, Home, Painting, Photography, Wellness, etc.)
  • Relicensure and Certification (Coaching, Cosmetology, Insurance, Used Auto Dealers, etc.)
  • Skilled Trades (Construction, Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Welding, etc.)
  • Describe your areas of interest and expertise in your cover letter and identify the specific course(s) you are interested in teaching. Information on Continuing Education programs may be found at https: // iwcc.augusoft.net. We welcome new class ideas!

    High school diploma and experience in program field required. Ability to pass a background check.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Qualifications for teaching Continuing Education courses vary based on the subject being taught. Other certifications and/or credentials may be required depending on the course being taught. For most courses, the minimum qualifications would consist of:

  • Subject matter expertise or experience relevant to the course topics
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Commitment to the use of technology in instruction
  • Strong computer skills
  • Travel within the IWCC service area, when applicable
  • Willingness to teach with minimal supervision maintaining professionalism, punctuality, and content relevance
  • Physical Demands

    Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment.
