Position Description

Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions

Teach the CMFT 6395 Practicum in CMFT course and provide supervision to CMFT graduate students.

Work with the CMFT faculty members to provide assessment feedback on student therapists' clinical development.

Attend weekly CMFT faculty meetings, during discussion of clinical topics, in the semesters instructing CMFT 6395.

Required Qualifications

An earned Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy or closely related discipline. Ability to teach effectively. This position will be classified as Security Sensitive and requires a criminal background check if selected for employment.

Preferred Qualifications

AAMFT Approved Supervisor, AAMFT Supervisor Candidate, or State established (Texas) supervisor designation in relational/systemic supervision training (LMFTS)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Credentialed as a LMFT

Demonstrated ability of effective teaching

Work experience in the area of specific course teaching (example: Marriage and Family Therapy, etc.)
