The School of Health Administration in Dalhousie's Faculty of Health invites applications from qualified candidates for a three-year, limited-term faculty position at the Instructor rank.

Dalhousie University is comprised of 6,000 faculty and staff amongst its 13 faculties. Current enrollment is 18,500 graduate and undergraduate students. As part of Canada's U15 research-intensive group, Dalhousie University is an influential driver of the region's intellectual, social and economic development. The Faculty of Health's faculty, staff and students are committed to improving the well-being of individuals, families, communities and populations through diverse health programming, collaborative research and strong community partnerships. The Faculty of Health is one of the largest faculties at Dalhousie, comprised of eight schools, one college and one program, more than 200 faculty members, 80 staff members, and approximately 3,000 students. With the most programmatically diverse health faculty in Canada, our students are exposed to a broad range of health topics and learning experiences.

The School of Health Administration's vision is to inspire tomorrow's healthcare leaders though the integration of research, practice and lifelong learning. The successful candidate will be a proven leader in transforming teaching and learning and an educational scholar. Teaching responsibilities will include all aspects of the MHA residency and interprofessional education programs as well as, oversight of the CAHME required student competency attainment program. The candidate will also ensure ongoing compliance with all CAHME accreditation requirements; take on program leadership and co-ordination responsibilities; advance the School's equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) agenda; and provide oversight of all student recruitment and program promotion.

Applicants must have a PhD in Education or a related field. Teaching experience, including at the university level with demonstrated evidence of high-quality, innovative teaching and learning is required. A minimum of five years' such experience is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in competency- based education, including student coaching and evaluation is required. The incumbent will have the demonstrated ability to design, oversee and manage a complex, student focused, field-based experiential learning program. Ability to implement principals of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy (CRP) is preferred. Demonstrated expertise coaching or training other teachers/academics or content experts to deliver pedagogically sound courses and curricula is required. Proficiency with educational software including Learning Management Systems (for example BrightSpace) is preferred. Highly proficient written and oral communication skills at the level needed to independently initiate and sustain relationships with health leaders at the senior director, CEO and/or CFO level is required. An understanding of the work of health administrators and health leaders as well as evidence of educational leadership is preferred.
