    Work Schedule varies as needed depending on the schedule of the program.

    GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Primary duties are to teach and coordinate dog grooming classes for non-credit students. Recruiting, marketing, and maintaining equipment inventory for the programs are also primary responsibilities of this position. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and work with minimal supervision. The instructor will also play a role in scheduling and promoting continuing education for area professional dog groomers. In addition, while it is planned to hold classes during the day, this position may require some evening and some weekend hours.

  • DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively organize, prepare, and teach assigned courses in accordance with established syllabi.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with customers, instructors, administrators and other College staff.
  • Evaluate and assess student learning and provide feedback in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate in the development, assessment, and revision of curriculum.
  • Maintain equipment inventory records.
  • Apply for state approval for programs requiring licensure.
  • Participate in the development and/or execution of departmental tasks and projects in the area of instruction or instructional support.
  • Regularly engage in professional development activities and actively seek information about developing trends and ideas.
  • Participate on assigned and voluntary community, college, and state committees.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

    Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pet Grooming Certification or Associate degree and a minimum of five years of recent and relevant experience in the dog grooming/animal handling industry.
