The Department of Biological Sciences at Ohio University seeks candidates for
a part time non-tenure track position instructing either the Department's
Introductory Biology and/or Human Anatomy and Physiology lecture/laboratory
The ideal candidate will have a record of outstanding undergraduate teaching
as demonstrated by assessments of teaching effectiveness, participation in
professional development programs on teaching practices, and experience with
innovative practices in instructional design and technology. Previous
experience teaching and coordinating online programs is a plus but not
The primary job responsibility is planning and delivery of either Introductory
Biology lecture courses to first year students and/or lecture and laboratory
sections of Human Anatomy and Physiology. As part of this job the successful
applicant will supervise undergraduate teaching assistants.
These courses are required for Biological Sciences undergraduate majors and
pre-nursing students in the College of Health Sciences and Professions.
Applications will be accepted into the pool through September 30, 2022, and
will be utilized to fill positions for the 2021-22 academic year.
Master's degree in biology or related field by the time of appointment;
knowledge of introductory biology course content, human anatomy and physiology
laboratory techniques; a demonstrated commitment to outstanding undergraduate
education; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing,
in English, at a native or near native level.
PhD in biology or other closely related field; experience in online teaching
and technology, experience in training and mentoring graduate and
undergraduate teaching assistants.
