Due to an internal promotion, we have a full-time, permanent role available in our friendly Technology Enhanced Learning Team (TEL) in the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT).

You will join a team of four other Instructional Designers who work closely with our Learning Technologists to support academic colleagues to embed blended teaching and learning into the curriculum in a sustainable and ongoing way. You will work closely with a nominated Faculty or School but also across the University to support a wide range of colleagues.

Our ideal applicant will possess

  • Excellent digital skills, ideally including a knowledge of university systems and processes
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to communicate confidently with different types of stakeholders
  • Experience in supporting staff in learning and teaching at University level
  • Knowledge of appropriate learning design and digital pedagogies
  • Our team will provide you with the necessary training on the institutional technologies available at the University of Bath to support teaching and assessment of our students. We will also guide you as you work closely with academic staff to provide pedagogic and practical advice on the Bath approach to blended teaching.

This is a full-time role of 36.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) available from January 2022. Both regular and flexible working patterns can be considered as well as secondments. The Centre is embracing hybrid working and the expectation is that you will work a minimum of two days on campus with the option of working the rest of your time from home.

The Centre for Learning and Teaching is a widely respected and high-performing professional service. The team works with all subject departments, as well as other support services, to deliver world-class advice in learning and teaching. The Technology Enhanced Learning team, which forms part of the Centre, is engaged in key institutional activities and has a reputation for providing high-quality, informed and practical approaches to enhancing practice.
