Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Health and Human Sciences invites applications for the position of Instructional Design Specialist for the grant program, Louisiana Child Welfare Training Academy (LCWTA). The LCWTA provides child welfare specific trainings online and in person for DCFS child welfare staff, foster/adoptive parents, legal and other child welfare stakeholders.

The Instructional Design Specialist will be responsible for course planning, development, and delivery. The Specialist will collaborate with training coordinators and Subject Matter Experts on training curriculum, course materials and job aides according to project timeline.

The Instructional Design Specialist will also assist the LCWTA with the program course alignment process by developing and delivering face-to-face and online training courses, workshops, and seminars.

This position is located at the Baton Rouge Center - School of Nursing on 4849 Essen Lane.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional/Educational Technology, or job-related field from an accredited university.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS • Experience creating online courses using Adult Learning Theory • Experience as an online course facilitator/trainer • Experience collaborating with Subject Matter Experts in developing online curriculums and web-based courses. • Knowledge of online accessibility issues • Working knowledge of Moodle and/or Moodle Workplace • Excellent editing, writing and communication skills • Experience working in child welfare, social work and/or human services area is not required, but considered an additional skill set.
