  • The research activity will focus on developing novel high entropy oxides with applications in the energy conversion and storage sectors as well-as as electromechanical devices. In particular, the aim is to develop: - Ni-free (and/or cobalt-free) high entropy rock salt-structured oxides which can be employed as electrodes or electrolytes in Li-ion batteries. - High entropy fluorite-structured oxides and identification of their electrochemical and electromechanical properties (giant electrostriction). The samples will be obtained by combining wet chemical synthesis routes with innovative sintering approaches, including flash sintering and/or ultrafast high-temperature sintering.
