Project/Unit DescriptionThis position is for an Information Systems Engineer in the Electronics Systems Laboratory Information Technology (IT) department. This department provides critical IT infrastructure for both operations and sponsored research. The ELSYS IT department designs, builds, and maintains information systems used to conduct sponsored research.
Job PurposeThe Information Systems Engineer leads the technical design and support of our end-user computing environment. This engineer is responsible for the day-to- day operational activities of the end-user computing environment, including but not limited to Windows, Mac, and Linux workstation provisioning, deployment, and maintenance. The Information Systems Engineer leverages configuration management tools to effectively manage a fleet of heterogeneous systems to conduct compliance auditing, and vulnerability and patch remediation. The Information Systems Engineer also works closely with leadership, stakeholders, and Project/Process Management authorities to effectively translate business strategy and objectives into technological capabilities. This position interacts, advises and counsels on a regular basis with staff, third party vendors, and service providers.
