About the Role As the Indonesian Language Teacher, you are responsible for assisting with a specific virtual program that develops Victorian Year 9 students' Indonesian Language learning, skills and acquisition. Your role is responsible for collaborating with the Manager and Director to design, deliver, evaluate and assess the Indonesian Language components of the program. In collaboration with the Manager and Director – Education, and other subject specialist teachers in the Professional Learning & Youth Team, you are responsible for contributing Indonesian Language teaching expertise, experience, knowledge and related pedagogical knowledge and approaches to student program design and delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops and communicates customized Indonesian Language learning program plans, resources, schedules, and information services (including online) for students.

  • Contributes to the development and delivery of Indonesian Language program for students in Years 9 that support strong intercultural learning and Indonesian Language learning.

  • Delivers engaging and innovative student programs with a focus on Indonesian Language learning, especially using e-learning technologies and online delivery methods.

  • About You To be successful in this role, you will be able to effortlessly exercise judgment. You will have advanced problem-solving and analytical skills at both a program and administrative level. You can effectively demonstrate initiative throughout your workplace to anticipate problems that might arise through program implementation. Your high-level communication skills will enable you to conversate with a wide range of students and colleagues from all diverse areas. You can efficiently work within a team and use planning and teaching strategies to mitigate risks or provide alternative solutions when required throughout your role.

    You will also have:

  • Completion of a relevant education degree with relevant education-related experience in Indonesian Language teaching

  • Current full registration to teach held with the Victorian Institute of Teachers

  • Demonstrated excellence and proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia, Additional Language Learning pedagogies, and familiarity with the Victorian F-10 Indonesian Language Curriculum

  • Experience in managing online engagement activities and learning strategies focused on school-aged students.

  • To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.
