Department/School Centre for Education and Teaching Innovation (CETI)

Location Central London

This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week. The post could be considered on a job-share basis or carried out on a part-time or flexible basis.

CETI has a university-wide role in championing learning and teaching and promoting excellence in the context of the needs of our particular students. The Centre has responsibility for a range of functions, including the coordination and delivery of courses in English for Academic purposes; coordination and core delivery of Foundation courses; promoting partnership and co-creation with students; supporting scholarship in learning and teaching; building learning communities to foster pedagogic and educational research; supporting course teams in curriculum development; and developing the professionalism, excellence and innovation of our staff in learning and teaching.

The core responsibility for this role will be to lead on robust, evidence- informed evaluation frameworks that support the University's work in relation to the Teaching Excellence Framework and the Access and Participation Plan. The post-holder will work in partnership with key stakeholders to build theories of change and to design and implement research which demonstrates our progress towards the achievement of outputs and outcomes. This work will help to provide a bridge between research and practice, ensuring that findings conducted into the experiences of students inform our practice – particularly in relation to the learning of students from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds. The post-holder will also lead the process of evaluating CETI's major projects and interventions.

The postholder will be supported by colleagues within CETI and across the University, in particular our Academic Professional Development Team. There will be opportunities to contribute to other aspects of CETI business and make connections between research and professional development opportunities.

CETI is a values-driven department with a commitment to trust, flexible working and scholarship. This is an exciting time for CETI and for the University as we seek to embed personalised, authentic and transformational learning across the institution's portfolio.
