The University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) has a unique and exciting opportunity for a band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the IBD nursing team.

This fantastic opportunity to join a regional and nationally recognised team leading the way in inflammatory bowel disease, which is enthusiastic and dedicated in providing high quality, patient centred care.

You will join a small team of passionate IBD nurses specialists who work closely with a broad multidisciplinary, research and development teams.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities Your Responsibilities What you'll do

As part of the nursing service some of your duties will include a telephone advice line, virtual clinics and transitional clinics. You will also be involved in service improvement, development and research associated with the specialty.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and wider services to deliver and develop a fast paced, innovative service, which offers patient focused, high quality care. You will lead by example with positive role modelling to enhance collaborative working.

You will work collaboratively with specialist teams, CCGs and Primary Care Trusts, crossing care boundaries and providing clinical expertise to other health care professionals.

What we're looking for

The successful candidate will need to have experience of the clinical nurse specialist role on a background of GI nursing. You will be an enthusiastic nurse who is organized and self-motivated who aspires to further their career in IBD nursing.

You will need to have an excellent level of written and verbal communication skills. Good IT skills, telephone skills and the ability to project manage and problem solve to support the team.

  • Higher Education Institute approved course in supporting learners in practice or evidence assessed to be of equivalent experience demonstrating support to a range of learners in practice
