E pā ana ki Te Whare Takiura o Manukau - Ngaahi me'a fekau'aki mo e Ako'anga Fakatekinikale 'o Manukau - About MIT

At Manukau Institute of Technology Limited (MIT) our purpose is to get people into great jobs. We have been changing lives in South Auckland since 1970, and are one of the largest providers of technical, vocational and professional education in New Zealand. We offer a variety of courses from certificates to degrees across our campuses. Every year 13,500 students choose to study at MIT, and over 900 staff choose to make it their place of work.

The People and Culture team are looking to employ an HR Business Partner to join our team. This is a busy role and will provide an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your generalist and partnering experience, or build on your generalist HR advisory and/or HR business partnering experience.

The HR Business Partnering team supports MIT's academic and support/service centre business groups. With such diversity there is never a dull moment in your portfolio, with plenty of diversity in your day to day - the old saying of "no two days are alike" could not be truer here. You will cover everything from supporting the roll out of our Culture and Development activities, to supporting disciplinary and other ER/IR processes, providing day to day HR operational advice/guidance to managers, workforce planning and supporting the business with change initiatives.

E pā ana ki te tūranga - Tuanga tatara i te angaanga - About the Role:

This role is a critical part of the People and Culture (P&C) team, driving a People & Culture strategy that is aligned to the wider MIT strategy, and ensuring that we contribute to making MIT "a great place to work". You will meet many people in this role and have an opportunity to influence across the full spectrum of your business groups, so your ability to build relationships quickly, be flexible, influential and work autonomously is important.

Mōu te take, E uiga ia te oe - About you:

You may be seeking a change or have taken a break and are ready to join a close knit bunch with a great leader and like flexible hours. As well as contributing to the team you will enjoy taking ownership. Our P&C team is diverse with HRBPs, Culture and Development, Talent & Acquisition, People/Employee Experience and Safety and Wellbeing roles. We like to have a laugh and enjoy each other's company. From time to time we need to "pitch in" to help each other out, that's what teams do. We don't operate in silos , so "team fit" is important as well as bringing a hands-on approach. You will want to make a difference and thrive supporting people to succeed through coaching and development. Building strong networks comes naturally to you and you like to get results, whilst being creative with outcomes. We are an education provider so it goes without saying that your professional growth is important to us.
