The Human Resources Office (HRO) at Central European University invites applications for an HR Assistant position.

As an HR Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of support activities to the Human Resources Office. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, administrative and organizational skills and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and holds a relevant qualification.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
  • Providing administrative support to the HR Director
  • Handling and sorting incoming mail, shared email accounts and incoming telephone calls as the first point of contact.
  • Organizing HR meetings and taking minutes upon request
  • Acting as a liaison between the organization and external service providers and vendors
  • Participate and coordinate HR projects.
  • Collecting and processing data; maintaining databases; storing and tracking documents
  • Partner with HR partners to appropriately address concerns, helping to ensure we drive to the right resolution.
  • Prepare slides in support of meetings
  • Preparing paperwork for HR policies and procedures
  • Oversee the time reporting and approval process
  • Support with other relevant administrative tasks and duties (e.g., reimbursements, invoices,)
  • Your skills and experience:

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related field
  • 1 year of experience as an HR Assistant or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Austrian labor laws and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, policies, and procedures
  • Experience with HRIS systems and reporting
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in German and English
