Locally known as Advisor, HR Client Partnering , you will work within a number of interesting and key portfolios and HR teams across the University as a trusted advisor. You will provide expert guidance on HR policies and activities across the employee lifecycle, while working internally with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcome for them. This role will provide you with a opportunity to become an expert in our industry and further hone your HR practitioner skillset - it will provide you with considerable opportunities for continuous learning and growth in one of the largest HR functions in Brisbane.

    Initially we are looking for experienced HR Advisors to work at our Herston campus, including various Greater Brisbane sites in the Faculty of Medicine and at our St Lucia Campus in theQueensland Alliance of Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI) and theAustralian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN). Any appointable candidates from this round of recruitment may be considered for future potential opportunities across the broader University as they become available.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the delivery of clear, accurate, timely and responsive HR advice and support and refers clients to relevant sources of additional information

  • Support the ongoing operational needs of clients and contributes to the implementation of HR initiatives and projects aligned to plans, business unit objectives and the UQ HR strategy

  • Acts as a trusted specialist adviser, providing comprehensive technical guidance and policy advice on wide range of HR matters, including (but not limited) new and continuing appointments, performance management, staff grievances, performance management, case management, contract variations/renewals, diversity and inclusion, recruitment etc.

  • ​Support and contribute to the ongoing development of HR knowledge portals; user guides; user education and ongoing process improvement

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and collaborate with colleagues to facilitate a seamless interface between other areas of the broader HR team

  • About You
  • Degree qualifications in HR, Business or a related field with subsequent relevant experience in HR, management and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and professional experience

  • Experience providing end to end HR policy advice and administration support across a range of HR processes including recruitment, performance management, policy advice, within established policy frameworks to meet desired outcomes and results

  • Ability to apply structured problem solving approaches and good judgement to analyse, manage and resolve a diverse range of sensitive HR issues

  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders and establish and become a trusted adviser to key clients

  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills to support delivery of HR policy advice and the implementation of key HR and change initiatives

  • Experience working in professional advisory and/or service delivery functions in complex stakeholder and policy environments

    As a result of internal movements we have multiple full-time, 12 month fixed term positions available at HEW Level 6

    The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $84,871 - $91,158 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $99,300 - $106,655 per annum.
