Hourly Paid Lecturers Required for Bioscience

The University of East London is looking for a selection of hourly-paid lecturers (part-time and/or fixed-term contracts may also be available) to work on Bioscience courses, in particular our BSc/MSc Biomedical Science and BSc/MSc Pharmaceutical Science.

You will understand the relevant professional body standards to inform your practice, and with experience in teaching and assessment and working with external stakeholders, you will be part of a dynamic team and required to plan, develop and assess the modules you are assigned to, contributing to the design and delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. You may need to also liaise with and provide support to the local placement hosts and collaborative partners, work with our feeder colleges and schools, as well as contribute to the School's research and knowledge exchange agenda or core service and administrative duties. You will be encouraged and supported to either join one of the ongoing research programmes or to initiate your own and embrace our ethos of research-informed teaching. You will be required to plan, teach, and assess the modules you are assigned to.

To develop our course portfolio, we are particularly looking for individuals with experience in one or more of the subject areas listed below:

Cellular Pathology, Haematology and Transfusion Science, Clinical Immunology, Medical Microbiology, Clinical Biochemistry, Clinical Genetics

Cancer biology

Bioinformatics

Medical Physiology

Pharmacology

Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceuticals

Inorganic chemistry

You will have a Ph.D. qualification in an appropriate discipline, as well as experience in teaching and student supervision in higher education, as well as a strong commitment to the student experience. Work experience and expert knowledge in a relevant profession are essential.
