Hourly Paid Lecturer – Simulated Learning (Nursing) College of Nursing, Midwifery & Healthcare

Salary: £31.15 to £47.58 per hour Release Date: Wednesday 18 January 2023 Closing Date: Monday 30 January 2023 Interview Date: To be confirmed Reference: NURS306

The University of West London is a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of creative, service and business professionals.

The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare are looking for clinicians (registered nurses) to work in our simulation centre supporting students undertaking simulated practice learning.

You will be a competent clinical nurse able to support learners from mental health and child fields of nursing. For mental health students this support will be in the application of physical health assessment and skills acquisition in line with the NMC (2018) Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment. For both fields this simulated learning is to provide opportunities for exposure to scenarios and experiences that might be limited in current clinical placements.

We are looking for applications from:

  • Registered Child Nurses and Registered Adult Nurses
  • Our simulation centre utilises state of the art Immersive and Virtual Reality learning opportunities as well as high and low fidelity simulations. You would join a team of academics, administrators and technical staff to support our pre-registration nursing students with the aim of contributing to their development and assisting us in creating the nurses of the future.

Candidates will need to possess highly effective interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, other academics, and with support and technical staff. Your clinical expertise will be required to ensure the authenticity of the learning experience and application of principles underpinning evidence-based nursing in order to maintain the high quality of learning and teaching associated with the college.

If you wish to influence nursing and healthcare through high quality education, embed and develop your knowledge and experience of healthcare education within a University setting, this could be the opportunity for you.

Applicants must hold a current registration with the NMC.

Certificate of sponsorship is unavailable for this role.

Please apply by uploading your CV (including details of two referees) together with a covering letter to apply for this position.
