The University of Hull is operating in an increasingly complex, challenging and competitive environment.

We have therefore developed a renewed, ambitious and distinctive vision for the University – to shape a fairer, brighter, carbon-neutral future for all. That vision gives us a shared sense of purpose and direction, and something we can all be proud to be a part of.

As a part of this, we have committed to becoming the first University in the country to become carbon-neutral, in time for our centenary year in 2030.

Our values – inclusive, empowering and progressive reflect who we are and how we work to create a culture for success, as we continue to evolve to ensure that we adapt at pace to meet the needs of our students, collaborators and partners.

The Hospitality Supervisor plays a critical role in the Catering and Events team of the Commercial Services Directorate, responsible for the delivery of food and beverages across the University campus as well as to buildings in the City Centre. The successful candidate will also support the Hospitality and Banqueting Team Leader with the delivery of functions and events.

Specifically, post-holder duties include:

  • Taking responsibility for a team of hospitality assistants to ensure the delivery of food and beverages to campus buildings is carried out in a timely manner
  • Provide direction to Hospitality Assistants, ensuring they are aware of how their roles and activities contribute to operational and strategic objectives
  • Assist in implementing at the customer service level, all policies, processes, systems and procedures to ensure an excellent service is provided to all customers
