The University of Iowa's Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC) and the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplantation are recruiting multiple scientists at the level of Associate, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in either the Research Track or Tenure Track, depending on experience, to join a group of investigators with interest and expertise in hematology and/or medical oncology.
Applicants must have a PhD in a basic science and at least 4 years of postdoctoral research experience in areas including immunotherapy, and free radical cancer biology and metabolism. Requirements include demonstrated ability to develop an extramurally funded research program and eligibility to obtain federally funded research grants. Highly desirable qualifications include the ability to manage an independent research program, and evidence of first or senior author papers in peer reviewed journals. A research focus on the most common malignancies (lung, breast, colon, prostate) is also desirable. The HCCC has a strong and productive history of investigation in this field and is seeking applicants who can complement current strengths of the core of investigators within the HCCC. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with clinical investigators with the goal of submitting multi-PI and program project grants. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and laboratory space adjacent to other members of the center.
