The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa-Carver College of Medicine is seeking an outstanding Health Services Researcher for a tenure track position at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor.
Education Requirement:
MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent degree
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated a record of independent federal funding along with significant scholarship and mentorship experience focusing on topics of broad interest within a range health services research disciplines. These methodological or topical content areas would include but are not limited to rural access and delivery, antimicrobial resistance, implementation science, acute and chronic opiate use, cardiac and vascular outcomes, pharmacoepidemiology or women's health.
Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs research and eligibility for VA appointment are required.
The successful candidate must also demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other faculty in the design and execution of innovative research programs and assist other faculty with developing independent health services research careers.
Desirable Qualifications:
Desirable attributes include a record of innovative and effective administrative and fiscal leadership, a record of excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated experience promoting a diverse workforce, and positive interactions with students, staff and faculty.
An interest in interdisciplinary research programs is desirable.
