Faculty of Arts The Faculty of Arts builds on a long-standing tradition comprising over four centuries. Our ambition is to be a leading faculty in the areas of teaching and high-quality research, with a strong international orientation yet deeply rooted in the Northern Netherlands. The Faculty creates and shares knowledge through excellent teaching and high-quality research. We train our nearly 6,000 registered Dutch and international students to become future-oriented, articulate, and intellectually independent graduates. The Faculty offers a wide curriculum, consisting of 16 Bachelor's degree programmes and more than 40 Master's degree programmes in areas ranging from Archaeology, Cultural Studies, History, and International Relations to Media Studies and Linguistics & Literature.
Office for Student Affairs (Bureau Studentzaken, BSZ) The Institute of Education (Onderwijsinstituut, OWI) is tasked with providing optimal support to the organization of the degree programmes. In addition, the OWI is responsible for the quality assurance and supports teaching innovation. These tasks are extensive and complex considering the wide array of Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes the Faculty offers.
As part of the OWI, the Office for Student Affairs ensures the implementation of an efficient administrative process. In the past six months, guidelines have been set out by the interim Head of the BSZ, in collaboration with the Director of the OWI to ensure the future-proof continuation of BSZ. The new Head of Department will be tasked with the further development and implementation of these guidelines in conjunction with the Strategic Staffing Plan.
