Job description

A brand new position has been created within the School of Health and Social Care and we are now looking to recruit a Head of Operations and Business Services.

As Head of Operations and Business Services you will work in strategic partnership with the Dean of the School of Health and Social Care (HSC) and the School's senior academic leadership, with professional leadership from the Faculty Manager, in order to deliver the School plan. You will be responsible to both the Dean and the Faculty Manager for providing high level management support to the Dean, and strategic financial and human resources management to realise the University's strategic goals.

You will act as the key interface between the School, the Faculty Manager, and the University's professional services teams, representing the needs of the School and playing a key role in ensuring effective communications across the School, the Faculty, and the wider University and will assist in developing an external profile and have the ability to represent the Dean and the School with external health and social care organisations, placement providers and professional bodies.

About you

To be successful, you will have an excellent understanding of the major Higher Education policy issues and their implications for the University. An ability to apply this knowledge practically in an administrative context to the University's advantage and be experienced in successfully developing and implementing ambitious strategic and development plans.

Possession of leadership skills and vision, with a creative and innovative approach and skills in driving and managing change and providing clear direction, along with the ability to assimilate and analyse large amounts of information and statistical data are essential.

In addition, you will have an excellent understanding of quality assurance processes and regulatory requirements relevant to Higher Education and the ability to successfully apply this in practice.
