We are now looking for a Head of CDO Office to join our team.

Your role and responsibilities

You act as a head of the CDO Office defining, roadmapping and implementing the strategic IT disciplines and functions under the scope of the Office. You are a key contributor to Aalto's digital transformation and IT strategy & roadmap reporting to the Chief Digital Officer of Aalto, subsequently reporting to the President of Aalto.

You ensure that Aalto-wide target enterprise architecture and system blueprint is being implemented according to the strategy and in an optimal way. You implement related management processes, roles, methodologies, development portfolio, result reporting and communication & change management.

You drive effective IT governance and portfolio management in order to optimize IT demand and supply. You manage and coach the portfolio of high- impact development projects. You facilitate collaboration and alignment between all relevant Aalto units.

You drive IT operational excellence and supplier relationships in order to optimize IT performance and ensure quality, safety and legal objectives are being met.

You manage and coach a team of skilled experts as well as relevant networks across Aalto. You constantly develop the competences and optimal use of resources in collaboration with other units.

Your experience and ambitions

What will help you to succeed and enjoy working in this position:

  • Strategic contributor and thought leader with strong IT strategy and digital transformation understanding
  • 5-15 years managerial experience and proven results in ICT management, management consulting or other relevant area. Experience in university or other expert organization context is an asset.
  • Experience in organizing, planning and managing large IT projects and portfolios. Knowledge on enterprise architecture and other key IT management disciplines under the scope of the CDO Office.
  • Very good team leadership, program management, change management, collaboration, and communication skills. Willingness for continuous personal growth.
  • Positive drive to contribute to Aalto University's mission and future success.
  • M.Sc./MBA degree or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English, Finnish is an asset
  • More than anything, you need to be passionate about your field of work and to be enthusiastic on constantly innovating and learning new together with others.
