Assumes responsibility for the organization, administration and management of all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III sports program in compliance with the philosophies and objectives of the Department of Athletics, the University of Hartford and NCAA bylaws. Must adhere to the rules and regulations governing University, conference affiliations and the NCAA, including assisting in the education process extended to faculty, staff, alumni, donors and the community when appropriate. Successfully identifies and yields academic and athletically competitive student-athletes. Mentors student-athletes and assistant coaches in a positive manner while exemplifying integrity. Demonstrates a clear understanding of the NCAA DIII philosophy and a commitment to academic and athletics excellence while building a winning program. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.

Description of Key Responsibility
Enforces all policies and procedures of the Department of Athletics and the University in addition to supporting a culture of DIII compliance with, the rules and regulations of the NCAA, affiliate conferences, and any other authorities that affect the intercollegiate athletics program. Participates in NCAA compliance approved clinics as required.
Description of Key Responsibility
Establishes goals, objectives and values for a successful sport program consistent with the pursuit of excellence, integrity and the mission of the Department of Athletics and the DIII philosophy. Mentors student-athletes and assistant coaches in a positive manner while exemplifying integrity. Develops and implements strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels.
Description of Key Responsibility
Understands and promotes the educational values of the Department of Athletics. Monitors the eligibility of student-athletes in conjunction with appropriate Athletics Compliance personnel and Athletics Academic Advisor/s. Supports the academic mission of student-athletes and the successful pursuit of their degree
Description of Key Responsibility
Proactively supports NCAA permitted fundraising events for the support of the program and Department at large. Seeks professional development opportunities to stay current with coaching techniques and engages in community outreach for involvement with the local community.
Description of Key Responsibility
Hires, trains, develops, mentors, and supervises assistant coaches and other support staff to ensure compliance with applicable NCAA rules, policies and procedures. Follows administrative procedures established by the Department of Athletics and the University. Conducts oneself with the integrity and character.

Manages the program within the framework of a balanced budget, with special emphasis on the generation of revenue.
Description of Key Responsibility
Arranges a competitive competition schedule as approved by the Director of Athletics, or their designee, and coordinates team travel with the appropriate Department personnel.

May be assigned oversight of the conditioning and training of team members in conjunction with the Sports Medicine Unit to ensure student-athletes are physically prepared for competition.
