The ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research of the University of Bern invites applications for a motivated and excellent researcher to join our institute as a group leader of an exciting and established research team.
The candidate will head the Hearing Research Laboratory, a joint technological and clinical research group of the ARTORG Center, University of Bern (Director: Prof. Dr. R. Sznitman) together with the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the University Hospital Bern, Inselspital (Chairman Prof. Dr. Marco Caversaccio). Candidates are expected to have obtained a Ph.D. in the fields of audiology, hearing science, biomedical engineering, or other engineering disciplines. A research interest in the field of hearing implant technology, such as the development of novel clinical diagnostic methods and the development and validation of minimally invasive implantation procedures are particularly sought. Collaboration with other groups within the ARTORG Center of the University of Bern as well as with other academic institutions, nationally and internationally are expected.
The candidate is expected to continue and further strengthen the internationally recognized, multidisciplinary research program of the group. Candidates should have a successful track record in the acquisition of competitive third-party funding and pursing their own research. The candidate is also expected to contribute to the specialized master's program in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Bern. Candidates are expected to have a strong knowledge of the German language.
