Goshen College seeks a full-time Groundskeeper , responsible for mowing, trimming, and upkeep of assigned campus lawns, trees, shrubs, and beds, and making sure that irrigation needs are met. Groundskeepers also remove snow and ice from sidewalks and other common areas in the winter, along with other assignments required by the Grounds Supervisor. This person will also assist in the installation of new campus landscaping and grounds related projects and the repair of existing landscaping due to other campus projects. This position requires the ability to supervise 5-10 student employees, and to provide supervision to all student grounds crew in the absence of the Grounds supervisor.
This is a full-time position eligible for full benefits :
During winter months, clear sidewalks of snow and ice, including chemically treating ice on sidewalks as necessary. Operate various snow removal machines, and shovel steps and doorways as needed. This may require early morning hours to accomplish.
Assist the campus mechanic with the maintenance of all mowers and power equipment.
Assist the supervisor of the grounds department on all campus landscape projects as required.
Assist other physical plant departments as needed during down times.
