The overall purpose of this position is to manage numerous externally funded grant budgets and to provide administrative and analytic support to the Water Center. Work with faculty, staff, students, and external constituents, as appropriate, to review and monitor award expenditures to ensure compliance with grant award terms and conditions. This position will also provide additional budgetary and compliance support to the Water Center as needed.

Essential Functions

Provide pre-award and post-award support for all proposals and grant related activities across all the Water Center related projects in compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Interpret policies, contracts, plans, objectives, rules and regulations, apply judgment and develop and implement procedures. Provide budgetary management of proposals and awards Interface and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, various offices in the University and external funding agencies to review, analyze and interpret proposals and award documents. Participate in and collaborate in internal and external audits and project investigations. Prepare reports and budget data for University units as needed. Manage and monitor fund balances and expenses and prepare budget revisions, account corrections and labor reallocations as needed. Facilitate hiring and processing of payroll, summer/extra pay, and release time for personnel related to grants. Process grant activations and finalize closeouts according to TTU policies and agency guidelines. Provide administrative support in the development and submission of grant proposals to funding agencies, especially those projects that are directly aligned with the focus areas of the Water Center. Perform other duties related to proposals and award management as assigned. Approve monthly procard reallocations for grant indexes on Water Center issued procards. Request proper documentation for all charges on monthly statements. Assist Water Center Manager with analytical and administrative support. Analyze, assemble and provide requested data for fiscal report. Assist with generating budgets. Work on special projects as assigned. Develop and implement new procedures for stream-lining Water Center functions. Place and receive Water Center or lab orders as needed. Process Water Center student payroll/GA paperwork when needed. Assist with arranging and/or serving as support for special meetings and events. Provide backup for Water Center manager in his/her absence.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and at least three years of related experience OR an associate's degree from an accredited institution and five years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional experience in accounting and/or contract/budget administration. Project management skills are needed, as well as ability to interpret policies and guidelines related to proposals and award management. Experience working with Banner.

Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD44.
