Job Summary
Manages the fundraising efforts of the Rosa Parks Museum and the grant
writing and grants management/reporting for the Museum projects and
programs.
Assists other staff and faculty as needed to help with fundraising and
grants for specific Museum projects or programs.
Develops relationships and partnerships with businesses, corporations and
potential supporters of the Rosa Parks Museum to gain their support of
special Museum programs and projects.
During shortages of personnel at the Museum, assist the Rosa Parks Museum
Director of Operations with other functions of the Museum as needed.
Coordinates with the Troy University Development Office on all fund-
raising projects, and the Office of Sponsored Programs for all grants
prior to submitting proposals to gain their support and to prevent
conflicts regarding funding and grant requests.
Ensures all gifts and donations to the Museum are acknowledged to donors
and ensure appropriate recognitions are initiated.
Submits timely reports and documentation as required on grants and
donations from individuals and organizations, while maintaining close
communications with the Office of Sponsored Programs and the Development
Office.
Coordinate with the Rosa Parks Museum Director of Operations and the Vice
Chancellor on all potential grants and funding requests prior to
submission of formal requests.
Attend events, conferences and other social functions as needed to develop
“Friends of the Rosa Parks Museum” and “Friends of Troy University”.
Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Rosa Parks Museum Operations
Director and/or the Campus Vice Chancellor.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or related fields.
At least three years experience working in management positions.
Preferred Qualifications
Grant writing experience
Grant reporting experience
Fund raising experience
Fund raising for museums or non-profit organizations
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle,
utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving
may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
Work Hours
Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, hours may be adjusted by the
Rosa Parks Museum Operations Director as needed to cover other museum
operations and/or evening/weekend duties.
List any hazardous conditions or physical demands required by this position
Some lifting of 50 lbs. or less may be required; as well as some physical
installations of exhibits from time-to-time.
