The Office of Grants and Sponsored Research is seeking candidates for Grant Accounting Specialist/PSS3 (CWA) role.
The Office of Grants and Sponsored Research (OGSR) acts as the liaison between The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), its faculty and administrators, and external public and private funding agencies, and supports the research, programs, and goals of TCNJ and of individual faculty members as they seek external funding. The OGSR works closely with faculty and administrators to identify funding opportunities and support the development of competitive, research, curricular and other proposals that enhance and support scholarship, program, and facility development at TCNJ. OGSR develops and nurtures research- and grant-development structures and programs; ensures compliant proposal submission; supports pre- and non-fiscal post-award administration, award set-up, fiscal management of awards, fiscal reporting, and research and fiscal compliance identification and monitoring; liaises with Financial and Business Services for approvals of financial post-award reporting; and liaises with other TCNJ offices to facilitate elements of grant implementation beyond the scope of the OGSR. OGSR provides support structures for principal investigators and grant directors to manage awards successfully, acts as a clearinghouse for all proposals sent to funders on behalf of TCNJ, and serves as a gateway for external funds entering the college.
Position Description.
The Grant Accounting Specialist is responsible for fiscal administration, and supports award set-up, award management, reporting, close-out and audit- related functions of externally funded grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements made to the College by government, other non-profit, and private agencies. Situated in the Office of Grants and Sponsored Research (OGSR) and working under the day-to-day supervision of the Assistant Director of Grant Accounting, this position reports to the Director of the Office of Grants and Sponsored Research (OGSR).
