    Graduate Teaching Assistant (must hold a Diploma/Master's degree) or a University Assistant (must hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree) for a full-time position at the Institute of Polymeric Materials and Testing (IPMT) to December 31, 2026

    Job Duties:

  • Conduct research in the field of “Polymeric Materials and Testing” with a special focus on the local and global ageing behaviour of polymeric or hybrid materials using cyclic fracture mechanics methods and/or micro- sized specimen
  • Contribute to teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the field of “Polymeric Materials and Testing”
  • Contribute to elaborating on proposals to support cooperative research projects and contribute to the corresponding research
  • Supervise and support students during their academic research (BSc, MSc, Ph.D.)
  • Be responsible for, and further develop, test equipment and laboratory infrastructure
  • Your Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must hold a Master's degree in “Polymer Engineering and Science” with a special focus on polymer long-term testing, fracture mechanics and preparing and testing micro-sized specimen
  • Possess professional experience in conducting joint research together with companies and scientific institutions
  • Possess experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the field of “Polymer Testing”
  • Proficiency in German (level C2) and business-fluent proficiency in English (level C1)
  • Demonstrable interest in the institute's research topics
  • What We Offer:

  • On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 3,058.60 gross per month as a Graduate Teaching Assistant holding a Diploma/Master's degree and € 4,061.50 gross per month as a University Assistant holding a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: B1)
