About the Role Located in the Faculty of Arts, the Academic Support Office (ASO) supports the development, delivery and quality assurance of teaching and learning activities. The Graduate Research Officer is a member of the ASO Graduate Research Team responsible for providing advice and support to graduate researchers and their academic supervisors throughout the entire candidature lifecycle from initial enquiry to graduation. The role works across a range of processes including selection, admissions, enrolment, candidature variations, milestone management, progress reporting, infrastructure support, Graduate Research committee support, and the implementation of student support initiatives aimed at improving the overall student experience.
The role requires highly developed interpersonal skills and strategies for dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders with different needs in a dynamic and complex environment. Exceptional planning and time-management skills and the ability to provide guidance to graduate researchers and academic staff based on relevant policy and procedures are also key requirements.
