About the Role

The Graduate Research Coordinator is a key member of the Faculty's Academic Programs team, providing high level administrative service and support to the Faculty's graduate researchers, academic staff, and professional colleagues. The position coordinates the Faculty's graduate research program operations and works closely with the Faculty's Academic portfolio leads for Graduate Research and the leadership of the Academic Programs team to support the success of graduate researchers and their supervisors.

The position administers graduate research course curriculum changes, working in coordination and alignment with the Faculty's Manager, Graduate Research Programs to deliver enhancements to core programs, and ensuring accurate course and subject information is published in the University Handbook, the Future Students website and other published collateral in a timely manner.

The position provides executive support to the Faculty's Graduate Research Directors Advisory Committee and will be expected to develop an excellent understanding of committee governance and the graduate research strategy of the Faculty, to deliver advice that aligns Faculty objectives, priorities and goals with University graduate research policies and procedures.

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • Coordinate the Faculty's graduate research Admissions and Scholarship scoring processes, working closely with the Manager, Graduate Research Programs, and academic departments to ensure the timely recruitment and selection of high-quality applicants for the Faculty's programs
  • Provide executive support to the Graduate Research Directors' Advisory Committee (GRDAC), a subcommittee of the Faculty's Graduate Programs Committee, using the Faculty's dedicated GRDAC Team and SharePoint sites
  • Coordinate the Faculty's Graduate Research Orientation Program (held twice a year) and assist the Manager, Graduate Research Programs to plan, promote, deliver and report on graduate research events, ensuring that preparations incorporate feedback tools such as a post-event survey for event analysis and future planning
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within the Departments, Faculty and Student and Scholarly Services
  • About You

    You will have the ability to influence and forge effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and a high level of initiative and drive with a demonstrated ability to provide input into business processes for continuous improvement. You will have highly developed computer literacy, including advanced use of Office 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and experience with other applications such as Qualtrics, EventBrite, Campaign Monitor and web editing packages. Experience in graduate research administration is highly desirable.

    Ideally, you will further have:

  • Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated experience in a role that required coordination of a range of complex functions, high-level organisational and problem-solving skills and competing or multiple deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide advice and support to a range of stakeholders at all levels
