Job description

Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Psychology (CEDAR)

This full-time post is available immediately on a fixed term basis until 30 September 2023.

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) to support the work of the ongoing evaluation and research activity related to CEDAR and CEDAR CREATE projects and clinical training portfolios. This post is based within Clinical Education Development and Research (CEDAR) within Psychology. We anticipate extending the post beyond that point subject to funding.

The Post

CEDAR is an applied psychological centre of excellence whose core mission is to grow and develop the psychological workforce, maximising impact through training and development, service transformation alongside research and evaluation. In doing so, we aim to ensure access to evidence based psychological practice that leads to positive outcomes for service-users, service providers and funders across England and beyond. CEDAR's training activity and clinical impact is supported, developed, and advanced through CEDAR CREATE, delivering concomitant Consultation, Research, Evaluation, Analytics, Transformation and Executive Education activity resulting in significant benefits to the provision of psychological support.

About you

The successful applicant will work with the evaluation team to support develop, deliver, and evaluate projects within the CEDAR training portfolio and as part of CEDAR CREATE research and evaluation activity. These include, but are not limited to:

  • An evaluation of the sustainability of the Health Education England (HEE) commissioned Children and Young Peoples workforce expansion programmes including the CWP (Children's and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioner), EMHP (Education Mental Health Practitioner) and RtT (recruit to train) programmes
  • Evaluation of related to CYP mental health outcomes, projects and initiatives
  • Evaluation of innovative and ongoing clinical training programmes
  • The post will include data analysis, systematic reviews administration support to the project team attendance at relevant stakeholder meetings. The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

    Applicants will be educated to first degree level in a related field of study or equivalent experience or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
