Position Title Graduate Research Assistant at Center for Teaching and
Academic Year 2022-2023

The Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) will provide professional-level
support related to research and creative activities that contribute to the
mission of the university, under direct supervision by the director of the
Center for Teaching and Learning. Responsibilities of the GRA are primarily

This graduate assistant position is funded via tuition assistance. (See work
hours for detail)
Serves in a research capacity for the Center for Teaching and Learning,
which may include the following duties and responsibilities:
Performs tasks related to specific function/program assigned
Assumes responsibilities and assists director in research and creative
activities for a designated research area
Develops work plans in accordance with research objectives
Assists in the analysis of data
Assists in writing up findings.
Completes robust literature reviews.
Assists with development and evaluation of instructional materials and/or
Assists in specialized administrative, technical or editorial duties
connected to research and creative activities
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must have successfully completed and passed INDR 8355 and 8357.
Must be self-directed and confident and have the ability to work to meet
Knowledge of higher education research principles and practices
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Skill in planning, organization, coordination of activities
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Skill in both verbal and written communication
Skill in the use of personal computer and related software applications
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the
University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Current UIW graduate or doctoral student in good academic standing with
the University, enrolled in at least six hours in the semester or session
in which the appointment occurs.
Doctoral students in dissertation writing who have completed their minimum
dissertation enrollment and are on “continuous enrollment” status may meet
this requirement with one hour of enrollment.
Required Work Experience
Must be in good academic standing with the university.
Enrolled in at least 6 hours in the Fall 22 and Spring 23 semesters in the
(DSE) Dreeben School of Education, Doctoral program.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
For student graduate research assistants, they will receive 3 credit hours of
tuition assistance in exchange will work 10 hours per week for a total of 150
hours within a semester.
Specific hours will be confirmed based on the student's semester schedule.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a
Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
