  • About This Opportunity

    An exciting opportunity exists for a highly organised and enthusiastic administrator to join the Academic Administration team in the Faculty of Science. You will be responsible for providing a wide range of senior administrative services to support the effective and efficient operation of the Academic Administration and Governance functions.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provision of secretariat and other administrative support for Faculty committees and working parties, including preparing agendas and minutes, and undertaking research into matters considered by committees.

  • Assisting with the submission of proposals to ensure compliance with University and Government policies.

  • Assisting staff with the collation and analysis of evidence in support of Academic Program Reviews, Curriculum and Teaching Quality Appraisals and applications for teaching and learning grants and awards and participating in working parties as required.

  • Maintenance and dissemination of program and course information through various information systems.

  • Provision of support and advice in relation to academic program approval, development and implementation.

  • Provide advice on policy and procedures in relation to academic matters including teaching and learning policy and procedures, and academic approval.

  • Providing advice, problem solving and project management in relation to program and plan enquiries from faculties and schools.

  • Investigating and providing advice to policy on new and revised policies and procedures, and ensuring consistency and accuracy of PPL content.

  • Overseeing and managing program configuration within Jac for the programs, plans and courses.

  • Using advanced functions of the Business Objects reporting system to prepare reports to facilitate program and school reviews and to inform decision-making on teaching and learning initiatives, as well as to provide advice to senior Faculty staff on strategic and operational planning issues as required.

  • About You
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant area plus subsequent relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Experience in a tertiary education institution or other large organisation in an area related to student/course/academic administration

  • Strong understanding of governance in a university environment.

  • A sound understanding of key administrative processes relevant to academic administration within a university environment including an understanding of processes relevant to development, approval, and management of academic courses and programs.

  • Sound knowledge of the University's policies and procedures related to academic administration and governance or demonstrated capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of University student computer systems e.g. SI-net, Jac, and Business Objects, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.

  • What We Can Offer

    This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW Level 6.

    The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $82,399.95 to $88,503.79 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $96,407.94 to $103,549.43 per annum.
