Preferred Qualifications Position Summary

Perform genomics experiments, operate Illumina Sequencers, 10X Single Cell instrument, data quality assessment, communicate with researchers, train new hires and students, create invoices in billing system, R&D, customer service.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

- Experience in genomics and Bioinformatics lab work. - Experience with molecular biology techniques. - Knowledge of Linux and basic bioinformatics methods including microbiome analysis. - Strong organization skills, attention to details and ability to maintain thorough documentations. - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in an interactive team environment.

Microbiome and DNA sequencing: Building Next-Generation Sequencing libraries. Assessing DNA samples quality and troubleshooting difficult samples

Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities

Single-Cell sequencing: Constructing libraries from customer-provided cells and/or nuclei. Provide technical assistance on sequencing workflows that suit the customer's needs

Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities

Equipment operation and maintenance: Operating three MiSeq instruments and one NextSeq 2000 instrument. Weekly, monthly, and preventative maintenance as needed for MiSeq instruments. Troubleshooting equipment errors

Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities

Customer interaction: Providing technical assistance to customers regarding experimental design and sequencing needs. Delivering data and occasionally assisting in data interpretation. Helping customers with generating quotes

Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities

Research and development: Improving current lab protocols. Market research for new products and equipment that enhance lab operations. Testing new products and presenting results compared to currently used kits

General tasks: Tracking inventory. General maintenance of common equipment. Assisting with website improvement and social media presence
