  • GECAD (GECAD–EEA/00760), is recruiting 1 researcher for a “Bolsa de Investigação” in the area of Electrical Engineering to within the scope of the NGS - New Generation Storage project" GECAD-PES2022-17 (Ref. C644936001-00000045), co-financed by the NextGeneration EU European Funds, through the Incentive System "Agendas para a Inovação Empresarial" and by the PRR - Recovery Plan and Resilience.

    Where the following conditions apply:

    Duration of the grant: 6 months duration, eventually to be renewed according to the applicable laws, the project execution and respective budget, starting expectantly on December 2022.

    The work plan will be carried out on an exclusive basis, according to the Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, approved by Regulation no. 950/2019, and the Regulation of ISEP Research Grants.

    The work plan involves the following tasks:

    - Design and computational implementation of methods, algorithms, and computational applications;

    - Integration and reformulation of existing and developed models;

    - Integration of computer applications with physical resources, namely for data acquisition and actuation;

    - Participation in meetings with supervisors and project teams;

    - Laboratory activities, including prototyping, and preparation of case studies, simulation studies, and the respective analysis and presentation of results;

    - Availability of all the source codes regarding the developed software, within the scope of the work plan, and the proper manual documentation;

    - Reports and scientific papers preparation, including the final activity report;

    - Communication and dissemination activities.

    The applicable laws are Research Fellowship Statute, approved by Law no. 40/2004, of 18 August; Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, approved by Regulation no. 950/2019, published in the 2nd series - Part C, of ​​the Diário da República, of December 16, 2019, Regulation of ISEP Research Grants, Decree-Law No. 66/2018, published in Diário da República No. 157/2018, Series I of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions and Decree-Law No. 60/2018, of 3 August, which simplified administrative procedures necessary for carrying out research and development activities, all in their current wording.

    The candidates to be selected will be scientifically supervised by Prof. Zita Vale.

  • Other documents that the candidate finds relevant.
  • Certificate of Qualifications/Document proving the ownership of the academic degree and diploma, of the respective recognition when it has been awarded by foreign higher education institutions or document proving the request for recognition;
  • The documents referred to in c) can be replaced, at the option of the candidate, by the presentation in person at the financing entity, which will keep the elements contained therein that are relevant for the validity and execution of the contract, including the civil, tax identification numbers and social security, as well as the validity of the respective documents.

  • Master's Degree Electrical Engineering or similar area, experience and motivation for the integration and development of computer applications and knowledge of spoken and written English. Previous relevant work and scientific research experience in the domains of this “Bolsa de Investigação”.

  • Monthly value of the grant: € 1. 144,64/month, paid by bank transfer (according to the table of stipends of FCT: https:// www., supported through the PAD no 57418.

  • Eligibility criteria
  • Required profile: Master's Degree Electrical Engineering or similar area, experience and motivation for the integration and development of computer applications and knowledge of spoken and written English.

    Preferred profile: Good ability to work in teams and experience in the development of computer applications, experience in integrative projects for the development of software systems in a team and motivation for the areas of artificial intelligence and energy management.

    Candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral.

  • The selection method will consider the following components: Curriculum vitae evaluation (60%) and interview (40%). The interview will be conducted in English.
