  • Position Summary:

    Incumbents will join faculty and researchers who are active in conducting research in various disciplines. CBHRS projects are typically focused on behavioral/health outcomes approached from multiple disciplinary perspectives including psychology, sociology, anthropology, and public health. Student researchers may be involved in collecting, entering, and analyzing data, writing reports and contributing to project management under the direction of the PI. This pool also recruits Research Graduate Students for the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER)

    Duties:

    CBHRS research assistants perform research part-time under the direction or supervision of regular faculty members, and support the research initiatives of the institution. Research Assistants must be enrolled in 9 graduate credits for the semester and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA during their assistantship.

    This is a labor pool from which the Center for Behavioral Health Research and Services (CBHRS) and the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) will draw when graduate research assistants are needed to work on grant-funded projects. Incumbents will join faculty and researchers who are active in conducting research in various disciplines. This will include working on one or more funded projects in these research areas under the guidance of Principal Investigators.

    Student researchers assist with varied tasks including quantitative and qualitative data collection, data entry, ongoing confidential data management, transcription entry and processing, data analysis, drafting of reports and presentations, project management tasks, and various other research project tasks.

    Qualified candidates for this position will be placed into a hiring pool for the academic year 2022-2023 from which persons may be hired. Satisfactory completion of research compliance training to obtain a current CITI and NIH certification will be required prior to commencing project duties for Graduate Research Assistants working on CBHRS projects. Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of a contract, nor does having worked one semester guarantee that a position will be available the following semester; hiring decisions are made on a semester-by-semester basis, according to the needs of that semester's schedule.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of research methods and analytical procedures. Ability to use computerized tools to organize and analyze information and communicate findings. Knowledge of standard reporting procedures. Skilled in accurate data collection methods.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    6 months research experience

    Preferred: Experience in a research setting/environment focused on behavioral/health outcomes (psychology, sociology, anthropology, public health).

    TYPICAL EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

    Bachelors Degree and enrollment in a graduate program.

    Position contingent on successful completion of online CITI and NIH certification

    SALARY :

    $21.00 - $23.67/hour
