The Study Support Team

The UWL Study Support Team provides students with academic support, English Language Support and maths and IT support through one-to-one appointments and study skills workshops. They also offer Functional Skills courses to Apprentices and those who meet the GLA funding criteria.

The Role

Working within the Study Support Team, the postholder will be required to coordinate the Functional Skills provision under the guidance of the Functional Skills Lead. This work starts with promotion of the opportunities available, recruitment, assessing current levels of maths and English, arranging courses and supervising the enrolment and progression onto courses. Support will also be required during exams and in informing candidates of their results, sending certificates and recording all information to the relevant data sets.

The post holder will also support the wider work of the Study Support Team, when required. This may include providing administration support including monitoring the Study Support inboxes, maintaining databases, and supporting promotion and the wider activities of the Study Support Team.

The Person

You must be qualified to at least honours degree level or have equivalent/relevant work experience and have experience of working in an exam, education or support related role, ideally in a HEI setting. You will need to be able to develop highly effective working relationships with staff and students and ensure the smooth running of all aspects of courses and exams from a student and staff perspective.
