Full-time/Part-time Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Psychiatry, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 520364) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
The appointees will participate in a 4.5-year large-scale multidisciplinary research and community youth mental health project. It is Hong Kong's first territory-wide initiative to build a youth-specific and youth-friendly mental health platform that provides timely preventive intervention to youth with distress and risk for mental health deterioration. The project will transform current youth services and provide a framework for future developments in youth mental health and youth-focused services both locally and internationally.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in psychology, social science, or any healthcare-related disciplines, with at least 3 years' work experience in research and administration. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and the ability to collaborate with external parties including academics and social service groups. They should also have a strong quantitative background, relevant experience in conducting and managing community research and clinical studies, and demonstrated expertise in the analysis of large and complex datasets.
The appointee will manage the evaluation component of the project. He/She will collaborate with local and international youth mental health experts to evaluate project outcome and model, liaise with project site for data acquisition, write academic papers, train and supervise junior research staff, and perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
